Memphis’ Largest Credit Union Buys One of Its Largest Independent Banks

Orion Federal Credit Union, a $1 billion market leader in Memphis, Tenn., announced plans to acquire $775 million Federal Financial Bank in August 2021. Federal Financial specializes in commercial lending, another example of credit union mission drift away from the 1934 Federal Credit Union Act.
